Providing Managed IT Solutions and Support to SMBs across the North East, my current role is 2nd/3rd line engineer supporting and implementing Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Exchange, Sharepoint, Failover Clustering and Hyper-V and providing hosted solutions to customers.

Durham Constabulary: Web Administrator, 13/08/2008 – 31/03/2010
This temporary contract originally started as a 6 moNth contract but was extended for another 12 months in March 2009. My day-to-day tasks included looking after the force’s external website and Intranet using bespoke CMS systems, and a large number of system admin tasks in an environment of approximately 3500 users distributed over 12 main sites using Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory and Exchange. This job required a high level of trust and Integrity due to the confidential nature of the work enviroment.

Fyndoune Community College: ICT Technician, 01/11/2005 – 28/07/2008
As an ICT Technician at Fyndoune Community College working in a team of 3, I supported approximately 550 users of the network in a 200 computer and 6 server environment. Communication skills with a broad range of ages was required. Day-to-day tasks included software and hardware installations, fault finding/diagnosis of both hardware and software issues, supporting the MIS system used in schools, computer builds, backups and restoration and antivirus configuration management, configuration and roll-out. I helped implement several major upgrades to the school’s network including laying of CAT5 network cables, VOIP phone system and Cisco Wireless Access System (Aironet).

Deerness Valley Comprehensive School: Trainee ICT Technician, 11/10/2004 – 01/11/2005
In this position I was working with another 2 technicians and a network manager, the school had around 150 computers and 3 servers running Windows Server 2000. I shadowed the technicians, learning how to go about the day-to-day duties of supporting the users. Basic hardware and software fault finding, hardware and software installations and adding/configuring accounts in Active Directory were on my list of day-to-day duties. A large part of this job included supporting the local feeder primary schools, tasks included software installs, hardware/software support and helping the primary school children on the use of computers. Child Protection training and PAT testing training was given to me.
